The fact is almost each one of us at least once in our lifetime has become a victim of stinging insects. So each one of us knows how painful this can get. Some insect stings trigger allergic responses in the body. However, there are some insects that do not initiate allergy or inflammation in the body. But after their sting, the swelling is common in all or most of the cases. While avoiding a sting can be quite difficult, you can definitely treat the itching and prevent it from becoming worse.  This article will tell you simple home remedies for insect stings. These remedies are effective treating most of the insect sting and helps in reducing itching, redness, and swelling.

Have a Look at Each of Them One by One:

  • Ice: –

Ice reduces the swelling by making the blood cold. Moreover, the cold blood does not circulate fast. Hence, ice ultimately reduces the blood flow to the area with the insect sting. For this remedy, take an ice cube or frozen peas and place them on insect sting for 20 minutes. This will reduce the pain and swelling. When using an ice cube, take care, however, and make sure to cover the infected area with a paper towel.

  • Garlic: –

Garlic is a good pain reliever for insect stings. Take a clove of garlic. Rub it on the sting area until and unless all the juice from the clove gets absorbed into the skin. Place a plaster on top. See what magic does garlic cast on the sting area!

Garlic and Onion

  • Onion: –

Another treatment for insect stings is onion. Take an onion. Remove its one scale and place the fleshy side on the insect sting. Press it gently on the sting site until the pain disappears. Hence, the sting won’t cause any discomfort.

  • Cucumber: –

Cucumber is the natural astringent. Moreover, it has the ability to constrict the body tissue naturally. On the insect sting area, apply a slice of cucumber. This will constrict the blood vessels in that area hence reducing the blood flow.

Bee Sting Home Remedies

Bee sting is naturally acidic by nature. However, using something alkaline on the infected area neutralizes the acidic sting. Bee sting can be treated at home by:

  • Baking Soda: –

Make a rich thick paste of baking soda and water.  Apply it on the sting area. This reduces the swelling and pain from the bee sting area.

  • Salt: –

Just like the baking soda, make a thick paste of salt and water. Apply to the infected area. This will ease the pain and hence help in reducing the swelling.

  • Wasp Sting Home Remedies: –

Unlike bees, the sting of wasps is alkaline by nature. The home remedies include the acidic treatments. These acidic treatments neutralize the basically of sting by wasps. Wasp stings are treated at home by:
